Engage Sunday – Banning, Challenging, and Censoring Books

Mika is the Educational Technology and Library Media Specialist in the Green Lake School District. Book bans & challenges in schools and public libraries reached a record high in 2023. Are there ever good reasons to ban a book? Mika will help us explore what it means to ban or challenge a book, the main ‘reasons’ a book gets banned, who the people are that most frequently ban books, and what we can do if a book is banned or challenged in our libraries.
