Engage Sunday “Beyond the Single Story”

Presented by Kathryn Severson.

Join Kathryn for a thought-provoking session on how our own biases and assumptions shape the way we see people from different cultures and with different beliefs. We’ll watch Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s powerful TED Talk, The Danger of a Single Story, followed by guided reflection and discussion about stereotypes, open-mindedness, and recognizing our own blind spots. With a polarized political climate leading up to the election, this is an opportunity to pause, center ourselves, and consider how we can approach one another with greater curiosity, empathy, and intention.
