SUMMARY:ENGAGE SUNDAY – SEVENTH GENERATION EARTH ETHICS
DESCRIPTION:Prairie Lakes member Kathryn Severson has enthusiastically volunteered to lead a presentation and discussion on the book “Seventh Generation Earth Ethics” by Patty Loew. Kathryn is a dynamic English teacher at Green Lake High School and she is the type of presenter that stimulates thought and discussion and goes beyond simply providing information.  We hope you’ll join us!   \n \nMore information below on the book she’ll be presenting:\nLearn how Native people of Wisconsin have worked toward sustainability and protecting the environment using this collection of biographies, one from each of Wisconsin’s First Nations. These biographies include people such as Walter Bresette, an anti-mining activist; James Schlender, a treaty rights advocate, Dorothy “Dot” Davids, an educator; and others.\nEach story shares traditional ecological values and cultural sensibilities. Those who are featured in this text “understood the cultural gravity that kept their people rooted to their ancestral lands and acted in ways that ensured the growth and success of future generations.”\n
